KLJ Movement is a non-profit dance company that provides professional development through performance opportunities and technique classes. Aspiring dancers and movement artists are empowered by the contributions of black and brown dancers throughout history.
Through the exploration of dance we provide artistic opportunities for artists to expand their expression through performance.
The movement aims to recognize that dance is vital to building critical thinking skills and challenging social norms. We use dance as a way to provide a different point of view. Art is subjective, why not start a conversation?
Striving to empower people that have been marginalized.
Treating our peers, community, and selves with empathy while keeping an open mind.
Making a commitment to take a stand during social inequities.
The freedom of shared community and fellowship.
Acknowledging the many different intersectionalities we hold in community.
Treating each moment as an opportunity to learn and grow.
