KLJ Movement is known for providing performance opportunities to aspiring dancers and movement artists. Therefore, anyone looking to get involved must be enrolled in at least one technique class. Youth, starting at the age of 8 and up (adults included), are eligible to enroll in a technique class. Enrollment occurs three times a year in January, May, and August (dates may vary). Technique classes run for 15 weeks per season with the exception of the summer season. The summer season runs for 10 weeks. In every class, students will learn from instructors that have had formal training in the styles.
Since KLJM is a performance based company, each calendar year the directors team will broadcast all of the upcoming performance opportunities for students to audition and to inform the public. Every student under the age of 18 is guaranteed to be placed in at least two performance opportunities a year (casting more than twice is based on artistic directors discretion). Those that are 18 and up will go through a professional audition process when seeking performance opportunities and can audition for all performances offered that year. Through the rehearsal and performance process, students develop skills sets to become professional dancers, choreographers, instructors, and much more in fields of commercial dance or performing arts.
KLJ Movement strives to create an equitable space for all people; therefore, we are currently looking for funding that offers scholarships to those that may not be able to afford enrollment. Other updates about scholarship opportunities will be announced at a later date.
